Your First Dental Exam: What Happens?
Your first dental appointment includes a comprehensive clinical exam. We check your teeth, gums, bite, and jaw joints. Digital X-rays are taken as needed. Our team completes a periodontal (gum) assessment and oral cancer screening, then works with you to create a personalized care plan.
For check-ups and cleanings, our hygienist removes plaque and tartar build-up, polishes your teeth, and applies fluoride if recommended. We use low-radiation digital X-rays to spot any issues between your teeth and under the gumline, places a visual exam can't reach.
